When people come to the Bible, they bring with them a viewpoint on how the Bible is to be interpreted. This can range from a very sophisticated viewpoint like Covenantalism or dispensationalism or it might be, in the case of many these days, an eclectic viewpoint derived from one&#8217;s experiences in life, traditions, culture, temperament and so on. The point is that everyone has a viewpoint &#8211; a framework &#8211; that tends to superimpose itself on the text of Scripture. Of course we all believe we have a biblical viewpoint when it comes to interpreting the Bible. But is there a hermeneutic that the Bible itself espouses that is essential in understanding the message of the Bible?
